helter-swelter
You know its bad when your eyelids start sweating. And thats what kind of a day it is today. A sweat-like-a-pig, stick-to-your-seat, fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk, melt-into-a-puddle-of-ooze day. And where was I? Why, in an 8 million degree theatre, of course. Its about this time when you start hitting your head against a brick wall wondering why on earth you signed up for arts alive. But i know next week i wont know what to do with myself, and i will be missing my Copa people. We had our Tech rehearsal today, which is always hell, let me tell you. Picture this: Having a 10 person crew that you cant see yell things at you while you try to move heavy set pieces and act at the same time, and then dance, and one you finish having to do it all over again. Add blazing hot stage lights, lots of clothes, and three weeks of fatigue and youve got yourself a tech rehearsal. We did it for 3 hours and we only finished act one. But, lucky for us, crew stayed late to figure out the rest on their own. I would buy them presents but I dont have any money.
So tomorrow is my last day (aside from shows) of arts alive. Sadness! i have to make sure that i get everyones numbers and such for some h-core partying. Im fairly sure we're having one first week of August, at Gator's place of course. I should really design a sign for her room that says that. And one for Alleah too... Pinto's corrall. hahahaha, she'd kill me. But it would be funny for the few seconds of my life before that.
The rest of my day was cool, and relaxo-matic. I went to the library, saw Nicola and chatted for a few minutes. Went home, did a lot of nothing, went to hang out with my moms friend Glen Copp ( weird, I know) who has the COOLEST vintage car, and he let me look under the hood. My mom was there too of course. She has a big huge crush on him, which i think is funny. Oh, and i picked cherries from a tree in his backyard. He said he might get a pool back there, which would mean him and my mom would have to get married so i could have big parties in his pool and drive his car around. After we left his house, we watched Confessions of Teenage Drama Queen with Caitee ( seeing as it is her birthday) which was a sucky movie, so dont ever rent it. Only good parts were a) seeing Adam Garcia and hearing his oh-so-cute accent, and b) a neat dance at the end. Not worth the 5 bucks to rent though. so, that was my day.
HIGH POINT: seeing my picture in the Daily News with the other Ay Caramba people. I look like a man, but thats okay because i'm supposed to be one.
LOW POINT: Having to practice my ass off at Dancing Fool and failing miserably for the most of the morning, and almost spraining my ankle again. The dance is good now, but i was scared for a few hours there.
